KALAMAZOO, MI - The Kalamazoo Optimist Hockey Association (KOHA) is pleased to announce that Dave Toth has been promoted to  the Operations Director position.

Toth was previously the Travel Director and Assistant Scheduler, but will now also be responsible for day-to-day operating activities, including program development and implementation. Toth will work closely with Executive Director, Frank Noonan, to ensure that KOHA is operating in an efficient and well-organized manner providing the best hockey experience to all KOHA players while ensuring a safe environment for all members.

Toth has been involved with KOHA for 18 years. His son, Jake, was a goalie with KOHA's Travel program from 2004 to 2012 during which time, Toth served as a Team Manager, KOHA Board Member, and then as KOHA's Travel Director - a position he has held since 2007. Last season, he began assisting with Association scheduling, and sees that as one HUGE change parents can look forward to this season. "This year, the schedule will be available for the entire season when it's rolled out. Our House C families, especially, found it difficult to plan their lives outside of hockey because we scheduled in 'chunks'. Our year-end feedback indicated we could be better for them. We listened; and are changing. I look forward to continuing to improve our overall member experience," said Toth.

Toth retired in 2012 from the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety where he spent 24 years as a Public Safety Officer. Toth lives in Oshtemo with his wife, Sherrie, and now that their adult children are on their own, when he's not at the rink, you can find Dave on his boat in South Haven, or dogsitting one (or both) of his grandpuppies (Rocky & Murphy).

Congratulate Dave next time you see him around the rink!
