It has been a difficult start to the season for planning not knowing when we would be able to start skating and the restrictions that we would have when we were able to return to the rinks. We have been waiting for MHSAA to make an announcement regarding the start of the high school season as that could impact our JV offering. We appreciate everyone’s patience as we have worked through the possibilities to try and find the best option for the players.

At this time we are going to move forward as if high school will be starting on time. Because high school tryouts will start the beginning of November, we feel that having tryouts for a pre-season JV team and try to get uniforms or play games in a single month is not a good option. We will instead be offering the following program for JV age players that have not played on a high school team in previous years.

KOHA will have our JV head coach, Paul Waltke,  and his staff run practices through the month of October to prepare all the players for high school tryouts. This program will consist of 8 practices and 5 Skills practice that include dryland training with Athletic Mentors, for a total of 13 sessions. The cost of the program will be $500 per player with a minimum of 15 players.

If you had already signed up for the JV pre-season tryouts we have returned the cost to a credit balance that you can use when registering for the October Pre-season clinic. If you do not wish to participate in the program please notify us immediately and we will refund the pre-season tryout fee.

Once the high school tryouts are completed, we will hold JV regular season tryouts on the week of November  9th.  The dates along with the location and times of the tryouts will be announces as the schedule is completed.

Once MHSAA has announced the plan for high school hockey we will inform you if we will need to make any changes to our program based on those announcements.
