MAHA DISTRICT 6 GIRLS HOCKEY EVENT

ON-ICE * OFF-ICE * NUTRITION

All KOHA female players, and any interested District 6 female players, are invited to an ALL GIRLS event featuring an on-ice component with KOHA Skills Coaches and USAH’s ADM Manager for Female Hockey, Emily West, and an off-ice component featuring our partner, Athletic Mentors, whose female trainers will touch on strength, conditioning, and nutrition elements for young female athletes.

This event is FREE and open to ALL GIRLS currently rostered on, or playing in a District 6 Association (any age any level)!

Our goal is to promote the growth of female hockey across west Michigan. Working together to strengthen the numbers across our District by providing the best development opportunities for our female athletes is a positive start.

WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 28, 2018 @ WINGS WEST

6:50 - 7:30pm    On-Ice

7:45 - 8:20pm    Off-Ice in Athletic Mentors (female athletes: strength & conditioning)

8:30 - 8:45pm    Nutrition (the important role nutrition plays in a female athletes development)

8:45 - 9:00pm    Q&A

Emily West, USA Hockey’s American Development Model manager for female hockey - she works with local hockey associations and programs nationwide to support age-appropriate training, competition and long-term athlete development. West’s extensive hockey-playing background includes participation in multiple USA Hockey National Player Development Camps two-time captain at the University of Minnesota, where she was a Patty Kazmaier Award nominee in 2010, and helped the Gophers win two conference titles and an NCAA Division I national championship in 2012.

Athletic Mentors - Their team of elite female coaches share a passion for performance and have the depth of experience in a range of sports. They combine sweat equity with the latest science and technology in kinesthetics and nutrition to promote athletes to their prime condition. Meet the Athletic Mentors Team here.

KOHA is committed to growing the girls game not just in southwest Michigan, but across the state and region so that young girls falling in love with our sport have an age- and skill-appropriate team to play on as they develop on and off the ice.
